Premier dating...

Is there anywhere online showing date ranges for Premier serial numbers?

Been Gogling but all I find are a lot links to drumexperts.com or ebay links.

I've got two Premier kits, one is a USA badged Olympic, and I'd love to narrow down the ages of my kits.

Just guessing my kits ages, as shown in my sig line...

Thanks in advance :)

Try this one on moonfruit:

I find the interface a bit bizarre, but it does have a reasonable amount of stuff. You have to scroll down the dates list with the little buttons to the bottom and right of it. But they aren't all dates, some later entries are specific topics like badges:

I don't know how actively it is maintained, either.

Thanks zenstat, that helps a lot :)

Starting in '81 the serial went to 6 digits, so I know my Resonators aren't any newer than '80. I'm still guessing my Olympics are probably '70-'73. No date stamps in any shells either...

It's pretty clearly stated in a few places online that serial numbers do not help date Premier drums. Your best bet is to post as many shots as possible and the nice folks here will help you narrow it down.

The key factors for NARROWING DOWN dates seem to be as follows:

-Badge

-Wood type

-Shell sizes

-Mounts

-Wraps/finishes

As some folks have joked, most Premier kits seem to be "transitional" from one stage to another. Some are pure examples of specific periods, but many incorporate badges, woods, shell sizes, and mounts from different periods.

Thanks guys for the help so far :)

Looking for the period correct front bass drum logos is the main reason I'm narrowing things down a bit, I think I have it figured out now...
