Do the edges fold over them ?
Sonor chrome snare, what model? No badge?

Nope that's masking tape. Original so I left it alone. BTW I discovered ink numbers 004 in the shell. Were these Chrome over brass, or Ferro-manganese?Magnet sticks only to near bearing edges, not anywhere else (on the shell).
Refer to http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/sonor_snare_page.html earlier snares had the offset lugs, whereas the 1965 snare has the same lugs as my snare has.
Hoops, t-rods, etc.. all Sonor. I wonder if it may have had a stick-on badge, but so far have not found one like it. Also I'm wondering, whether or not the shell is chrome over brass. I'm reluctant to say, remove a lug and scrape lightly along one of the holes to look underneath. It isn't a seamless shell, though. has a seam and a weld under one of the lugs. I'm awaiting approval by admins on the Sonormuseum site. Thanks for any useful info!
Better yet, refer to the catalogs over at the Sonor Museum, like this one from 1969.
I am a long standing member over there and have some knowledge about Sonor drums, and certainly would not be pretentious enough to propose an opinion on something I had never seen, apparently.

Thanks for the link! I looked at every catalog in the museum before I posted. My snare drum looks exactly like the King of Snares model EXCEPT it has a different throwoff, and muffler. The shell, lugs, hoops all appear to be the same, at least to my eyes. Do you see the similarity?
You don`t need to remove a lug. Is it heavy ?
Two reasons you wont find a badge on vintage SONOR,....in the fifties, SONOR has a script logo that was painted on, and often washes or wears off. They switched to a badge after. During the early seventies SONOR put foil lick and stick badges on metal snares. They also put grommet held trademark badges on metal snares that went out with high end kits. 004 would be either April 60 or April 70, with that muffler, I bet 70, stick on badge.
