Help with value, ebay gone bad. I purchased this snare on ebay for $300. It arrived with damage, not bad, the shell is bent slightly on both sides at the snare gates. The worst packing job I have ever seen, a 14 inch drum in a 14 inch box with popcorn thrown over the top. At this point I can keep it or send it back but I have no idea if it is worth hanging on to. I am not a collector, this would be my second snare. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The drum is 6 1/2 by 14, 8 lug, 3 line COB shell with 3 point strainer, COB hoops, brass and black Niles badge with serial number, as pictured in the 1967 Slingerland catalog page. Thanks.

The 6 1/2 is a bit rarer, but that's still a lot to pay for a drum that's damaged. I would probably try and correct it first and if it doesn't take THEN send it packing.
Those shells are ridiculously easy to bend, and it should have been packaged as such.
This one is unfortunately your call, only YOU will know if it's correction is A OK.
