Identifying a 1960's Ludwig bongo/conga combo

Loading...

I have a 1960's Ludwig Keystone Badge bongo/conga combo set-up with the original combo stand finished in BDP. The bongo's have white interiors and slip over the spade style mount while the conga slides into a round hoop which is integrated into the bongo stand. It's a factory set-up. The bongos and the combo stand are Ludwig pieces. I'm not sure of the conga's origin. I have scoured through online catalogues with no luck. BTW, I know we all love to see pictures, so before you ask, I have some on my old computer that died and the combo set is buried in my spare bedroom while I'm undergoing a major kitchen/living room reno. So no pictures to share at this time. I'm thinking Ludwig made more than one of these and someone out there has a similar set or pictures of one? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks..

they did a lot of things with there congas and bongos stands///

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Thanks Wayne, I appreciate your interest. BTW, I see you have a 1980 Ludwig BB 14 x 6.5 snare. Is it a Supra? Did you purchase it new? What are the first three numbers of the serial number? Does it have a pointy or rounded corner badge? I have a 1979 BB 6.5 Supra I purchased new in the fall of 1979. I still have it. Serial number is 199xxxx and it has a pointy corner badge.

We know Ludwig made Bongo, we know Ludwig made Conga, I just can`t see the basket stand or cradle stand incorporated into one stand without it being something resembling a cocktail kit.

How would you get that ring into the legs of the stand ? Is it welded onto the pole ?

That`s the first time I`ve ever seen anything like that stand. But I like it. Every one I ever watched had two Congas and two Bongos on a separate stand in front of them.

The conga lugs kinda look Gretsch. Maybe a copy...??? but I`ve not seen those lugs.

That`s a cool rig.

More pictures....maybe the stand is not a Ludwig piece? I know the conga is not, in fact I don't know what brand it is?
