Has anyone used the new Atlas bass drum cymbal mount? Looks cool! Wondering if it'll fir my Rogers drums....
Ludwig Atlas bass drum cymbal mount
The Atlas mounts are cool, and they do work in terms of the isolation advertised. Using them to replace a RIMS type mounting system on a tom is great. They're actually smaller in most cases than the hardware they replace, and offer a lighter-weight drum, with ease of changing the batter, and a more open, cleaner look to the shell (especially noticeable on rack toms.)
But they have a fairly tall profile, thanks to an already large mount, topped with a tallish wing nut. In a word, they're big. They stick out.
The potential issue using them for floor tom legs, kick spurs, cymbal or rail or accessory mounts on the kick, is the possibility the wing nuts can get caught on clothing, skin shins, etc. and depending if or how you transport the drums, you'll need larger bags/cases.
Adding just one for a cymbal arm is cool though, and the best part is, they're moveable and removable.
The Atlas mount adapts to 25-43mm hole spacing, see if that jives with your Rogers holes.

It's awesome.. I use it as a ride cymbal mount on my Ludwig kit, and it doesn't rattle, shake, wobble or any other annoying noise that may come from mounting hardware on your bass drum.. It perfectly isolates the cymbal and is solid as a rock..
on a Ludwig transition badge kit, I replaced one lug with an atlas mount to give me a bass mounted cymbal holder. works like a charm.

I have my ride cymbal mounted with atlas mounts on 2 different ludwig kits. Saves me carrying a boom stand. Fits in case by turning the mount to the corner were the radius of the case meets the flat bottom.

The Atlas mount that takes the place of a lug will not fit the Rogers Bass Drum lug hole pattern. The distance between holes on a Rogers Beavertail Bass Drum lug exceeds the distance allowed on the Atlas.
The Atlas only adjusts so much.
I know, I really wanted to use one on my Blaemire Bass Drum with Rogers hardware.
Oh,if you want to use the Atlas on a Rogers lug drilled TOM shell (smaller lugs), NO Problem.
I wanted to use the Atlas on my BD (Rogers Lugs) to hold a cowbell.
I opted for the DW BD hoop clamp, Which is REALLY GOOD.
Don't know how the DW clamp would be for a heavy cymbal.
Probably not good for a heavy ride.

Thanks to Mr. Jerry Jenkins
Ok, thanks. Glad (but bummed out) to know it won't fit Rogers.
How bout a '60s Rogers R360 kick?
B I figure it'll fit a Vistalite, but will the shell support a 20" or 22" ride?

it would be more costly. but some guys use two atlas lugs with an arm in between the two. then add a cymbal mount to the arm. atlas makes all the stuff for this. it would give you more stability and spread the weight better.

Or two DW hoop claws, That works very well.

Hello everone,
I just purchased some Atlas mounts and put them onto my Bassdrum (used Gretsch Catalina Rock 2014 in Copper Sparkle) and fitted an DW SM770 into one of them for my 22" Ride.
Everything looks fine but I noticed that the cymbal arm moves a bit too much/wobbles a bit.
Does anyone have a similar experience and if so any thoughts on how to deal with it. Help2
(I'll try to take some pictures as soon as possible)
