Working on little by little for a clean up of this Ludwig Super Swing mod# 51.

What should I do to clean up the inside that looks like possible mildewed spots?

I did start on the wrap with a little rubbing compound which seems to be working nice.

Any input would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Such a cool snare drum~! Looks like its coming along nicely. Not sure on the mildew spots but maybe start with a damp soft cotton rag and see how easy they come off. Careful around the date code. BTW your fix on the wood hoop is excellent!! Hope someone has some good advice on the mildew spots for you. Good luck~!

Glenn.

Add a little Clorox to the water. Be careful around the stamp seconded.

Thank you Glenn for the info and nice comment!

Thank you OddBall that did the trick! It even made a hidden 7x14 and what looks like the number 20? written inside the drum show up. The other little specks are just some paint that is flaking off.

No worries mate, we share info all the time here. That is one awesome drum and I can`t believe those hidden numbers were staring right at us.

That SS is very hard to clean and the fact it`s on scrap newspaper that says Labor Day all over it had to mean something.

Beautiful drum, nicely done!

Couldn't agree more. Great job bringing that one back. How about a short sound file? I'd really love to hear what that drum sounds like.

John

Too many great drums to list here!
