80's Meinl Dragon cymbals

Loading...

I am looking for any sizes of those Meinl 1980s Dragon cymbals- they made splashes in 10,12 & 14" and 16", 18" crashes and 20" rides. I don't know if they had 22"s. Also, they made hihats.

I have a Meinl Dragon 20" which I am really fond of and would like to develop a complete set. If you have any of these please PM me. Thanks!

Here is my 20" Dragon

About 6 months ago there was a 20" - the exact same as one I already have- on auction here in Japan. 2 months ago there was an 18" crash. So in addition to ebay you can peruse Yahooauctionjapan. This will get you there:http://page22.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/l242262137

A few years ago I purchased this set of Dream Bliss cymbals- 24", 22", 20", 19", 18", 14hats, and 10" -especially the 18,19, and 22" are very similar to the Meinl Dragons I've owned and played. An alternative?

Hi thanks for the reply. I've posted another thread and I got a similar reply about Dream Bliss being a good alternative. I'd like a Meinl Dragon because I've seen John McEntire, drummer with Tortoise play this cymbal and it sounds excellent! Thanks for the info. Nice website.

thanks- seems my Photobucket images are not posting up at all here this week- very strange. I almost picked up an 18" recently. If they pop up on here again maybe I'll buy them and send you a mail?

They made odd sizes too. I have a 15, I've seen a pair of 17" labelled band and an 11 splash.

The only 22" Dragons I've ever seen are chinas and are labelled 55. I think that they also are the only cymbals labelled only in centimeters that I've ever seen.

If you don't mind the label search also for Cobra and Rancan cymbals.
