Greetings gentlemen, and to all vintage Paiste connaisseurs.

Just recently acquired a set of minty Paiste blue label 15" medium hats. Great score !..

But i picked them up in the hopes that i would find someone to trade for a set of 14's , which is what i actually i prefer.

I posted a thread on the trades section.. I'm looking for blue label 14" medium or even sound edge ..

Will post pics soon..

Greetings gentlemen, and to all vintage Paiste connaisseurs.I just thought i'd share something very special with all you cymbal cats, that was a long time coming.. As vintage Paiste collector and player, i'm almost as proud as a new Dad with the terrific news i'm about to share with you all.. I was extremely lucky to have a found a set of hats that are not only some of the most sought after cymbals in Paiste's history, but are some of the most beautiful and sonically sought after as well.I will soon have in my possession , a set of almost mint, blue label 15" medium hi hat cymbals, (with the added mini bonus of a decent heavy duty 80's Pearl, hi hat stand) for what i can only describe as a price that in comparison, is equal to getting all 7's at the slots !I will not put up any pics, or disclose the price here, just yet, and until i actually have it in my hands, but will be posting the minute i acquire them.I only ask all of you gentlemen to please refrain from any nasty jealousy remarks, if you please )) LOL !It is my hope that some of you will one day be as lucky as i am today!

Nice score alright. They are not too common, that's for sure. I have the 14" Mediums and Sound Edge in blue label. Can't part with either, I'm sorry! The mediums are my favourite recording hats. Really nice cymbals. For live, I play a set of 14" heavy black label 602's. These were supposedly Porcaro's studio choice although they are not rock cymbals to me, I guess they are fairly loud. I am used to them though so I can play them at pretty much any level, even though they are 1000 or so grams each. The mediums are much tighter. The Sound Edges are great, but I sing, so the vocal/hi-hat spill is a bit too much. Did you get your 15"s in the USA? I have a friend in Europe who keeps an eye out for me for interesting blue labels. Someone would take those 15" off you very quickly. I can ask my friend about 14" Mediums if you like. He has quite a blue label collection, including a wall display of four 18" China Types with consecutive serial numbers. Took him years to complete it.

I got them here in Canada.. I was hoping to trade with someone in Canada if they had a set, but the more i hear these 15"s the more i'm loving them.. LOL !.. I'm finicky that way.. ;) I have a thread post on the trades sections to see if there is in fact someone here in Canada whom i can trade with. This is my first pair of blue labels, and i couldn't be more thrilled.. I know that they're just a set of hi hats, but they're a treasure none the less.
