Sorry, won't be able to post a pic until I get home (out-of-town until Sunday evening). BUT... it was my wife's (the "vick" in "billnvick," short for Vicky) birthday Thursday, and she enjoys garage sales and yard sales and such, so I did the "good husbandly" thing and took her to some... and we stopped at a couple of Estate Sales.
And lo and behold, for a VERY REASONABLE price I picked up a 60s Apollo metal snare drum! This thing needs to be cleaned up a little and is missing the batter head altogether, but all parts are original (as far as I can tell) and working! When I get it home, I'll clean it up, add a batter head... and it WILL be MINT. This one is of 8-lug design, and is clearly a Slingerland SD copy.
I would be interested in some thoughts on its value. Can't find any metal ones like it available or sold on eBay...
Thanks in advance,
