Anyone use Meguiar's or Mothers to restore wrap?

I just picked up a champagne sparkle slingerland bass drum, and the wrap is pretty grimy and dull. i'm looking for something to bring the wrap back to life a little bit. anyone had any luck with Meguiar's or Mothers products?

I have also had excellent results with their Plastx and their Scratch-x products. I can tell no difference between these and my Novus products.

Just remember to clean the wrap first soapy water to remove all the gunk so you are not smearing it all around while trying to polish.

thanks for the tip.

the wrap is in pretty good condition overall. no serious damage, and the discoloration is minimal and even. probably just needs a good cleaning more than anything.

I clean with soapy water, rinse, polish with Meguiar's Plastix and then Novus 1 buffing well between the Meguiar's and the Novus 1 and then again after the Novus 1. Works very well.

thanks everyone. i'm sure this question has been answered a ton of times, but - as you would expect - it's hard to narrow down a search on this site when you use the words "restore" and "wrap".

I use Maguires Cleaner Wax on most wrap, it does a great job and leaves a nice protective coat of wax. If it protects the paint on your car out in the sun and rain, it'll last forever on your wrap.

The color of that champagne wrap will not come back. There is a lot of metal in there, actual flakes of copper and another metal, and it tarnishes or discolors over time. It's under the surface, down inside the wrap under a layer of clear plastic - nothing will touch it...
