I have one of these, I picked it up for $175 but it need to be rewrapped. It was all original including the wires (12 wire). I and a few of my drummer friends think it sounds amazing. I don't know about $450 euro, what is that close to $900 US?

30's Radio King - 26, 13, 13, 16
49 - WFL Ray McKinley - 26, 13, 16
58 - Slingerland Duco
58 - Slingerland Krupa Deluxe
70 - Ludwig Champagne Sparkle - 20, 12, 14
70 - Ludwig Champagne Sparkle - 22 (need), 13, 16
And some others..

Its a mid-60's Dixieland model snare. Not worth that much thats for sure. I have one that I've restored, and I'm trying to get somewhere around $275 for it....but even that is probably too much......

Boxy sounding w/ limited tuning range due to 6 lugs ( think low ) . Definitely not worth anywhere near $ 600 . $ 200 tops .

Actually mine tunes up rather high, but.....its either low or high, not much room for any middle ground.....very narrow tuning range due to the lack of fine tuning available....

The two or three that have passed through my hands cranked to the limit all were still way too low for my taste when I wanted high-ish . Low they sound pretty much like a Name Band with a good set of snare wires . My personal experience . At any rate , a one or two trick pony and boxy .

Maybe I got a good one, because I don't think this one is boxy at all.....maybe its the head choice or maybe its the 30 strand puresound snares I have on it......or maybe its just a fluke that it sounds good.... Cool Dude

With vintage Gretsch snare drums I tend to lean in the direction it is a fluke ! Eye Ball

could be this model tends to sound boxy because of those heavy die cast hoops? don´t know, guess for a light 6-lug drum with a thin shell, thats quite heavy metal.

anyway, I have a 6-lug dixieland with the same strainer and straight 2-flange clip hoops that sounds great. I have the original 12-strands, but for gigs I use those yamaha Gadd 12s snares with every 3rd strand missing.

the drum is light as a feather. with a real calf head or, in summer, a renaissance ambassador on top, it reminds me of the radio king sound on old records. woody, cracking rim shots. It´s white marine pearl large pattern. the only problem is that the hoops are somewhat weak, they bend at the clips, so I have to tune it up and also turn the hoop at times.
