Hi Ya John, well this might have started out as a Hi Fi, Premier did have 10 lug hoops and it doesn't take much to install a RA Strainer

Hi Captain hope you are all good, NO this did not start off as a HI Fi, it would have extra holes from a strainer and butt plate this is how it came from the factory 100% real and not converted drum, regards John

The internal hardware is way different than my Super Ace, though the butt-side outer looks the same. I haven't seen the internal workings on a 2000. Is it possible that the RA bolts would match the holes on a 2000? When did Premier start making 10-lug snares? I have a Cabria kit and the snare that came with it only has 8 lugs, like my SA.

Just checked your link, and the internal hardware is even different on that one. Seems THAT would be the place to start, by identifying the internal workings. Here's a pic of the inside of my SA...

So you see, between mine, the 2000, and whatever John has here, we have three totally different systems. Hmmm...

Just reviving this thread as I came across what looks to be the same drum today. It was owned by a late percussionist from the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and it has been described as being in absolutely pristine condition. I had to buy it. I'll post more photos when it turns up.

Wayne - more specifically, the Royal Ace (1960s) is usually an 8 lug snare. The Hi-Fi was 10 lug though
