Bull Sh*t! I just got my very 1st brand new drum kit, Its a ludwig cs accent nomad jazz kit with a 18" bass, made in china. Im sending it back, and may buy some gretsch if I dont buy this Tama stagestar kit here in town from craigs list. I am gonna go look at it and see. But then, i guess everything is made in china these days.

If the Gretsch kit is a Catalina or Renown, then that series is also made overseas. The USA Gretsch's will (should) have a tag on the inside saying they are American made (check this site for the Gretsch badges). The Tama kit is made overseas, too.
