Zintage Vildjians?

So, I think I could have gotten lucky on eBay today with these cymbals. I picked up all 3 cymbals for less than 40 of your US buckaroos. Not too bad! I took a complete shot in the dark on these. I saw the auction was about to end in 30 seconds and nobody had been bidding on these cymbals so I pulled the trigger. I then messaged the seller asking for more info. He had listed them as 3 vintage Brass band cymbals 20" 18" and 12". He hasn't gotten back to me with anymore info so I'm hoping there is somebody here on the forum that might be able to identify these cymbals or take a guess as to what make these cymbals are without seeing any stamps or logos. They're pretty oxidized and dirty looking, but I can live with that.

Post your thoughts below. I will reveal the winner later as soon as I find out what I've bought here. :)

Well why didn't you say so?! I've been looking high and low for those keys. :P

I can live with the keyhole-ing. That doesn't bother me too much.

If they're old Zildjians with keyholes then I think 40 bucks is a good price for an 18" 20" and 12" don't you? But I'm starting to think they're some old brassy clangers, please let them not be that.

Anybody want to take a guess as to what these are? I just got word back from the seller, he said "than ks" for your bid and all I saw was that "ks" part. Ha ha. I now know that one of them just says Japan on it while the others have no markings, so I'm guessing all of these are MIJ cymbals. Now my question is are they B20?

Any comments / wisecracks are welcome.

Somebody tell me that these generic MIJ cymbals are half way decent sounding. I've just bought them.

I`m gonna say the 18 is Avedis because it`s The same color as mine and the lathing looks the same too.

The big one is bright like a K, But I`ve never seen a K turn green patina.

I do hope you're right about at least one of those. The seller isn't a drummer and doesn't really know what he has. He said he can see no markings on them other than Japan on one of them. that's all I've got. I'm hoping for a pleasant surprise, but I'm expecting a pile of scrap iron in the mail. I thought that 18" looked like an old Zildjian too. At a glance it looks like there could be something there. As soon as I get them I'll let you know more about them. :)

My guess is that all 3 of these are JAPAN

At the same time, you may like one or more of these for some type of application.

See my video..............

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Thanks John. I've watched your video before while researching these MIJ cymbals. I liked it. I'm going to guess they're all Japan cymbals too. Are these made of B20 alloy? Does the lathing on that crash cymbal look like any old Japan cymbal you've ever seen? I was hoping it might be an old Paiste or Zildjian. TWhe Japan cymbals are quite cool, but they'd be a whole lot cooler if they were Zildjian or Paiste. :)

I'll let you know what they are as soon as they arrive.
