Hi,

is anyone can say something about this snare?

It's a repainted one: original wrap is Chrome satin flamme

8 chronme lugs (but repainted as the shell in grey), no badge but rectangle badge was there before (4 nails)

no strainer, but holes..

typically Lugs look like Sonor or Star like?

have a look on my picture Excited

thanks!

Did Sonor made Satin wrap in 60's or 70's?

Mlayton: The hoops are exactly the same and tensions rods too.

OddBall: Lugs type is 70?

I have the entire kit, but not in the same finish, the seller (old man) says that the snare is not matching... i will post the entire kit soon as possible...

Yes, they did. Similar to Star's.

I understand those are GREAT snares - beechwood? I had one - just like this situation - had satin wrap - and someone had spray painted over it. Parted it out - but.....kept the shell because it sounded so awesome. Will rebuild later.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

That's definitely a Sonor snare from the second half of the 1960s (1965 or later), probably the D471. And yes, they used satin flame back then. You can find their catalogues in Sonormuseum.
