Anybody here like their old cymbals with PATINA?

It's a trans stamp. My money is on the type I based on hammering characteristics:

Time will tell.

That's because its been sitting at the bottom of the Marianas trench for the last 50 years. It fell overboard on a jazz cruise and was only recently was recovered via submersible.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Dry I would imagine. The surface being etched by all those years of exposure, should roughen it up to effectively make it sound as if it had been sand blasted.

I saw a trans stamp with that same kind of patina a few years ago. It was an 18" with a large crack.
