Ok - you all know me as a huge advocate of the MIJs of the 60s and 70s. Here is where I can present some sonic proof. I just shot this video today to check out how the 16in Sabian B8 First Crash blended with the Paiste 404 crashes. What I discovered was a real boomy 12 inch tom! I did tune it since the last video - but it does NOT sound quite that boomy in person....well, at least not from the stool. Maybe it does from up above where the camera was (on a small tripod on top of a refrigerator).
