BTW,the CX900 is the Pearl's top of the line cymbals.

They made from B8 and also available with "Wild" finish (similiar to Paiste's RUDE,but less brutal).

Well after about 22 hours of uploading - my new video is up featuring MIJ Pearl HHs - CX-500 and CX-900. I finally got my adapter in the mail and from now on, the audio on all my videos will come out of BOTH SPEAKERS! (though not technically stereo).

Some were taken during the cleaning process. I used Bar Keepers Friend and indeed when exposed to the air - within minutes the gold started forming again (I am sure you will be able to notice it). But - once I dried it well, the gold has not returned. The bell pics appear to be B8, though the color of the finish and the sound certainly suggest B20 or something in between?

At any rate - the video also shows some good looks at these - and we finally have some good video of these cymbals online for all to discover during research. My sincere thank you to Chuck (user kckelly) for the CX-900 HHs!

I actually have a CB700 Ride - that was likely made by Pearl, as it says right on there Made in Japan. It is much like the CX-500, though the label is not green, it is black. I will add a pic of it here. The finish on it is very much like the CX-500 as well.

This CB-700 is dry, nice sounding, like a ZBT but heavier and a bit more complex. Likely B8 I suppose.It is the CX-900 that I question the composition more than the CX-500 - though I wish we could discover some literature that informs us about them. It wasn't THAT long ago. Certainly memories could suffice, so long as they were accurately informed.

BTW,the CB700 was previously built by Tosco from 1974 to 1983.

After they made by Pearl,the CB700 was made in China.

Yes, aware of the Tosco connection and have several of those (indeed for sale too).

One thing about CX-900's,they are actually made by Sabian.

The difference is,the Pearl OEM version have traditional finish,the Sabian version is have brilliant finish.

Those are specifically the WILD series. My hats (and other CX-900s I have seen) were MIJ (ink stamped on the cymbal). It is intriguing as I believe that modern Pearl cymbals are indeed made in Canada (please confirm if you or anyone knows).

Perhaps all of the Wild series were produced by Sabian? Common belief is that Paiste made them since they look so similar to the Rudes - but this appears to be proof that Sabian likely made them. Wonder if we could confirm this.
