That is actually INCORRECT... ALL "older" cellulose based pearl covering, actually called Pyralin, WILL yellow... and terribly so, if it is subjected to UV. The biggest damaging factor to the "older" WMP is sunlight, although UV is also present on cloudy days too of course. Your Slingerland's.. ( absolutely BEAUTY'S! ) .. have not suffered a lot of UV exposure in their life, which is a good thing! I learned this the hard way by destroying a MINT set of 1966 Rogers Buddy Rich Headliners. The drums were always kept inside by the previous and ONLY other owner. Me not knowing about UV damage on cellulose based/Pyralin WMP, gigged the drums for years in a lot of outside venues, and... the damage was done. It happens SLOWLY... you don't even see it, until one day, I took them out of their cases for another gig, and... YELLOW! I learned real fast about UV after that! Point being...

YES!... all early cellulose based/Pyralin WILL yellow. Your Slingerlands, being 70's era, are not immune. Just don't gig 'em outside!, and keep therm away from windows, and they will stay as they are right now... BEAUTIES!

I had them in Vintage drum form,before and I was told it was a 1967 and it was the fore runner to Pearl drums !! Yes,they are in cases and I only use them for special occasions !! Last time ,I used them was at Finding Freedom on Good Friday,doing the praise & worship !!!

A great looking kit! Guess no one caught the fact that your tom arms are installed backwards! The drum key bolt, for adjusting tom angle, faces up, not out. Just wanted to point this out. Again, a really nice kit!
