Agree with all that this is a beautiful kit, and if anything like the Camcos I've owned, they will sound excellent too.

Dolfan is correct on the mounts. The kit is equipped with a factory set of Camco late

60's mounts with a triangular mount on the bass and a diamond plate on the tom that has longer front to rear dimension and all the corners of the plate slightly rounded. The swivo arm would not have been original to the set unless someone made a very unusual order. Camco did make swivo hardware available as a special order. See the kit Dennis Wilson played (blue moire). It had all swivo/knobby equipment on bass and toms. That is probably due to the fact that one of his early kits was a Rogers in champagne sparkle, which he had after he started with a Gretsch kit in the same color.

Take a look at the Camco catalogs the webmaster provides in the link at the top of the home page and you will see the original mount in the catalogs from that era. I had a burgandy sparkle set with that type of mounting system. It was available in single and double tom modes.

Ah, just saw the page 2 picture of the mount. Definitely original on bass and tom, but the swivo are is another matter.

Two more observations. The swivo arm has been customized! Very crafty indeed and nice work. The bass mount has been relocated, and that presumably to give the single arm approach a better location. Seems as if it was orginally quite a bit further to the front than I recall mine being, and that would be consistent with a set that had double toms. I think mine was located right where this one is.

More mysteries, but not going to be relevant when the get rockin'.

Looking at the picture, which I kept for future reference, this indeed must have been the Maxwell set. In the description it stated that a previous owner had placed the mount much more forward and that it was put back to its original position, leaving the 3 holes in the front.

My natural 4-piece Camco Oaklawn set has the mount placed somewhere in between these 2 positions. Like on my set, the triangular mount is not pointing forward like it was done on the 3-piece Oaklawn sets or on the later Chanute and LA drums.

This one is actually almost identical to mine as it also has the badge facing the drummer. On almost all Camcos, I’ve seen the badge placed in the front.

I was not surprised to see it getting sold within 24 hours.

Very interesting details, and I'm nearly certain that on my Oaklawn burgundy three piece set, the triangle was pointing forward and the badge was definitely at the front. That mount type, though for double toms, is essentially the same device that came with mine, only made to hold a single tom.

This was the kit offered by Steve. I added a 13 and crafted the mount see pic set is awesome and sounds amazing. I've played Dw's for years...no going back Camos rock.
