Super Tyrko 20" Ride Sweet!

Loading...

I found this on ebay and bought it last week and it came in today.

The discription was:

Description

Condition: New

Brand : Sonor Cymbal Type : Ride

Product Type : CYMBAL

This is a vintage 1970's new old stock Sonor 20" Ride Cymbal. It was purchased at an auction of a music store that was closed for over 30 years. It is marked on top "Super Tyrko, Sonor, Made In Germany". and I think it was a top grade Sonor cymbal at the time. It has a bright sound, with a long sustain. The cymbal finish is bright and shiny, with a few flaws here and there. There are marks on the back of the cymbal from being in the plastic bag all these years (original Sonor bag included). Don't miss out on this fantastic vintage Sonor cymbal! I also have available in another auction, a 22" Sonor Ride/Crash....please check it out!

the excact same cymbal was listed for over $200. I checked with this forum and found out that the regular Tyrko's are just another cheap sounding cymbal but the super is a high quality cymbal. Mine came in today and it sounds sweeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It looks so cool on my sonor cymbal arm on my just restored teardrop sonors!!!

This cymbal is a lot more sliver colored than my oothers. I have this 1 old ajax cymbal that is close to the same color. I know ajax is a nasty cymbal, I need a good crash cymbal, and a pair of hats, to go with the super Tyrko, and my new old sonor cymbal stand, and old sonor bass drum pedal,

I'm wondering if that cymbal is made out of NS12........since you say its more silver colored.....and Ajax cymbals were usually NS12......Hmmmm

I have been researching the tyrko and the term NS12 is mentioned numerous times. It sounds pretty damn good too, but I mainly got it for the originality of the cymbal for my teardrops

It really looks like it is, particularly when you add Poppy's description of the color.....

NS12 = "nickelbronze", a cymbal alloy which used nickel (therefore isn't technically "bronze" at all. Standard bronze alloys are copper and tin. Brass alloy is copper and zinc.
