Kind of off subject, but, will ludwig classic large lugs, fit holes drilled for the ludwig self aligning lugs?

When you say self-aligning, do you mean the magnum hi-tension marching lugs ?

Do you mean the long lugs, or Mach series lugs, usually used on newer marching drums?

Pretty sure they're mach series.

Pretty sure they're mach series.

Ok then......no, the lug spacing is different between the long lugs and the large classics in some cases, so I don't believe they would be interchangable....might want to measure the hole spacing to be sure.

I have a 66' marching snare im restoring. It has mini classic lugs on it. I have found out that the new ludwig cs accent toms have the small classic lugs with exact same hole spacing. The lugs on my marching snare are yellowish compared to the lugs on my 68 ludwigs, I suspect they must be nickle plated. The rims on this drum are also yellowish, so i suspect they are nickle also.

Does this sound correct guys?

Ok, one more lug question, and then I should be ok :P Will large classic lugs, fit imperial lug holes?

d-rum,I'm using a '57 wfl marching snare for a floortom, snare beds and all.

It talks in 3 languages, you have to tune around the beds but it works just fine as a tom.

You shouldn't have any problems, tons of tone.

One of my favorite drums!

Double ended classic SNARE lugs will swap with Imperial lugs no problem. If you need single ended lugs, then the only other lug that will swap are Rocker II/Standard series BASS lugs. 2 3/16" center to center IIRC.
