Thx Oddball.

*New guys. pay attention. This is how it starts.

You get the kit. Then you spend a ton of time, effort and money trying to get every little nut, bolt and add on.

I've had two teardrop kits. The current one is a mid 60's Chicago K-190. The previous one was unusual in that they were teardrops with Phonic shells.

I can't remember how that kick sounded...DOH Different sizes tho'.

I feel ya Hollywood.

But what I've learned is that if it's worth it all to you then that's all that matters.Clapping Happy2

Teardrops deserve respect and affection.

However, the Phonics line signaled a significantly higher level of quality for Sonor.

Hmmm. I don't know about this.

Drops are made to a pretty high standard. Haven't seen any phonics but I have seen lots of drums from other "top" companies.

I would put drops up with the best of the others of the same era and better than many.

All the other top of the line series in the 80`s and most of the 90`s were shell differences with Phonic trim.

No argument there. I'm simply comparing 'Drops to Phonics.
