I'm not interested in ever re-selling the things I get. I think of it as if I wanted it at one point in life I'll want it later on. Thats why I'm not afraid to say what I paid for stuff.

Here's a retail deal. I picked up a used Paiste 2002 black label flat ride for 75 bucks at The Modern Drum Shop in NYC. The cymbal was literally covered in tape glue residue, looked awful and Joe said "give me 75 bucks and get that horrible looking thing out of here........by-the-way there is a great cymbal under the gunk you know". Joe Cusatis was a great guy and his shop always a friendly place to hangout. The Flat Ride cleaned up beautifully and I use it all the time, great jazz cymbal.

I wear a 75.00 ultra-thin Swatch...If I had that kind of disposable money for a Rolex I'd opt to buy even more snare drums instead...
