My project for the summer holidays

Today I picked this up for $100. I think its from around 1970-72. The photos dont do the wrap justice at all as it looks nearly brand new and hasnt faded at all. I was nicely surprised to find the premier lockfast snare stand with it aswell. Still has the original star heads on the toms. Ill be restoring this over the holidays and will post the after photos soon :D

Nice score. That looks like a late Star as you say, and I've never seen that wrap. I had one in a similar finish but it was more grey. That is going to look spectacular with the Novus treatment.

I'm a huge Lokfast fan so well done on getting the snare stand, they are very cool.

Great score and I love the offset rack tom lugs, I wonder if they meant them to be that way?

But there is something curious about the double tom holder section:

brackets and tom holder are types of Hoshino (Kougyou), which was not Star/ Tama, but another factory.

Can you, please, have a look inside of the shells: there should be additional holes in the shells, nearby the brackets (at the bass drum as well as at the tom shells) ...

Yeah the offset lugs are standard :) Ill have a look inside the shells tomorrow but its highly likely its not the original tom mount. The person i bought it off said he had swapped a few things out over the years and the mount stood out to me straight away. My first thought was rogers but if you say Hoshino then thats good enough for me

I keep a close eye on ebay and gumtree. Just gotta get lucky I guess. What state are you in?

Heres the photos of the inside of the bass drum Ralf. Looks like it originally had a rail mount.
