Hi guys and my first post so here is a project I have just recently completed.
I am a sound engineer in film and TV but have a passion for all things musical and play and record most instruments, my main kit is a Drumcraft ser 6 with Dream cymbals but I have always liked classic Premier kits after my Uncle Lee showed me the basics in 1966 when I was six:
Here is a classic 1972 Premier drum kit I got off e-bay and have re-furbished to it's former glory. 22x14" kick drum, 14x10" rack tom, 16x15" floor tom, all 3 ply mahogany shells. 14x5.5" 2000 alloy snare drum with 60's zyn cymbals.
I totally stripped the shells and cleaned and lubricated all parts, the shells are in pretty good condition with just the usual tom rash and dings. They polished up great with some autoglym car products.
I have added some basic CB drums hardware for the moment but plan to get a matching hihat and cymbal stands in time.
It sounds fantastic with the single ply heads on it.

I also have a 1966 royal ace 14x5.5" wooden snare in blue pearl and a 1966 4" metal royal ace along with another almost as new 2000 snare.
