FayRay - the Beaded 6½" snare you linked to and that turned out to be steel is a 1036.
They differ in looks from the Aluminium 36 by the lugs - Olympic/Club lugs on the 1036, "Pointy" standard Premier lugs on the 36.
You can find lots of Premier catalogues on drumarchive.com.
They won´t tell you all, the older catalogues just tells you they are "metal"....
Krash, your snare is an american model, the snare that came with the 6000/6500 kits as mentioned below. It is with 99,9% probability aluminium - a 8 lugs version of the Beverley 21, with Premier lugs.
If you search this forum, you will the picture form an american catalogue with one - this model has been discussed not too long ago.
The 6000/6500 was later sold in Europe too as Premier Projectors - but not with an 8 lugger like yours. They were US only.
Yes, Ludwig alu-snares pit a lot more than Premiers - Premier quite simply did a better chrome. You will find lots of Premiers, typically 2000´s, form the early seventies with perfect chrome.
Enjoy yours - it is a great sounding snare, and not too common worldwide.

Jon
