Loading...

In a few weeks for her birthday my daughter will have a 60/70's 3ply Ludwig kit. She will have a "67" supra, a "67" 9x13, "70" 14X22 and to top it off, Friday I ordered a 16x16 Ludwig "Legacy" green sparkle.

Cymbals: 20" K Zildjian Pre-Aged Dry Light ride, and a 16" Sabian Vault.

NO HATS YET..but soon I hope!! [Got Them]

Wonder if she'll let me play them??? I'll post photos after the Legacy comes in.

I really enjoy the forum..I'm sure I will like it here!!

Later,

Harry

What we do for our kids. I love this. My son doesn't even play and I had a custom snare made for him with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle motif. We are a strange lot. But, ya gotta love 'em. Our children are our gifts. It is a very good thing you've done. Post some pics when you give them to her. I love that 'gift' face when they realize that wonderful gift is for them! Sweet stuff.

That's awesome....I love it when the younger generation gets to sit behind a great ol' kit.

My most personally satisfying renovation sales are to those who are, say, under 30 y.o.'s...because I feel the kit has helped introduce them to wonderful bygone time of both drums and players which, were it not for forums or folks like this, would be lost eventually....

This is GREAT stuff. In the six years since I've moved here, I've set up and supplied seven younger drummers with kits. To help them get their drumming legs, I gather 'em up along with a couple of seasoned hitters and bring them all over to my house every three or four weeks. We set up a couple of kits in my living room and we just play and learn from each other. It is some of the most amazing times. We all attend the same church and so we have that connection, too. Some really good drummers are now heading off to college and out into the world. Harry, you are doing something magical. Great job. It's not always about us (though that is sometimes hard for me to see). I tip the hat to you for "getting it". Nice.

I did that with my daughter, also...she came home from school on her b-day and a new Tama kit was filling the Living Room with a huge "Happy B-Day" sign hanging over it. Aaaah, memories.
