I think Zildjian may be starting to make cymbals again

How about Dump-aholic brand cymbals. Any of those for sale?

I don't see why it matters if Zildjian makes good cymbals or not. It is a venerable brand and has a famous lineage but so do a good measure of of the other cymbal companies out there -----most of the small Turkish companies can be traced back to K.Zildjian and so, have at least as much depth of historical importance as A. Zildjian and have maintained traditional quality, parameters to boot. The fact that A.Zildjian acquired K. Zildjian through legal wrangling , did nothing to ensure it's proper continuance in Turkey, and allowed the brand to deteriorate into nothing, clearly indicates that their interest in the name and the quality associated with that name, is purely financial. Having K's was a flagship for them, a banner, a shingle but why have good K's, when the intent is to mass market A's? They've owned the K.Zildjian brand for over 30 years now and only now, after realizing that every one else makes better cymbals than they do , have increasing market share, rather than decreasing and there is a great deal of interest in cymbals of vintage character, they are trying to reinvent the brand? I'm sorry; it doesn't need reinventing. It already was invented. What is this Sound Lab Prototype B.S.---they're just probably copying someone else's cymbal, anyway.

Right. And in the case of #1, it would be one of Kerope's I'd imagine.

I really like that 22.

Not sure I would sound as good playing it as that drummer. Nice touch.

Makes one long for the days when a cymbal was just a cymbal.

And what it was supposed to be good for was what the drummer thought it should be.....and not the cymbal company.

I still don't care for vintage K's in a live situation,,,although the old K's record better than no other in my opinion,,,(well in a studio,,,/van gelder). I would rather have either one of those proto's than a original K. D' DrummerExcited
