Oh man, you ruined the paint job! And did a great job doing it. Sometimes paint helps preserve the shell, and it looks like that was the case here. NICE!

Nicely done! She looks great!

Here's a few links to help find parts:

http://www.jp2creations.com/

http://www.drumfarm.com/index.html

http://www.repercussions.org/Hardware.html

I have a few more bookmarked, I'll post them when I find where I put them.

Check out the catalogs for Premier 1930-35, the snare is listed with close ups of the parts, it may be possible, if you can't find them, to have them machined locally.

That is a singularly stunning instrument.

Why on Earth did the company ever paint them to begin with? Insanity. It just kills with the bare brass shell.

Too many great drums to list here!

What's the length and diameter/thread of the tension rods. I want to get the right size tension rods for my Dominion Major. I have 2" spare ones laying around but they're too short. I saw on ebay 2.75" rods and i'm wondering if these would be long enough. Thanks

The same reason that people put shag carpeting over hardwood floors; it was considered stylish at the time.

That certainly is a stunning snare drum!

great snare!! One of my favourites! Cool1

I have one just like it AND in the same color.. Ivory it was called.. they only came in Ebony (black) and Ivory (white) at that time as far as I remember.. I left mine in the white.. love it being "worn".. my major has the 1947 lugs though..

BTW: I also have a matchin 24x14 bass drum.. solid brass hoops!.. one ply 6 mm mahogany!.. booom..guitar3

also in white.. its on my list to restore a little.. some missing parts.. and somebody put new legs on it(might leave those on, cause the original ones do NOT work in real life)!

BTW I altered the strainer so I could use regular modern snare wires.. works ok-ish
