Can anyone ID this MIJ kit from the tom holder and lug/T-rod design?
Was told it may be a Stewart, but I'm not sure... No badges anywhere.

The guy I got it from said he had a Stewart badge laying around, so he put it on. He's not sure if they're Stewart or not.
What we see here in Richm's great work is the last half of it - which is BLACK JACK.
If I recall correctly, Stewart was made by both Pearl and Star. So, that would not help either, but I believe I have nailed it with the Black Jack anyway.
Looks like it could be Hoshino - same rail as in this thread

At the same time, looking closer....the T-Rods look like Pearl all the way.

One of the drums had a 1970s-style Pearl internal muffler, and the hoops are metal so I'm assuming it's from Pearl factory.
I think ID'ing the tom holder will nail it.
Ok. A recently arrived 1970ish Pearl set with rail single tom mount has the same treatment on L-arm. The diameter is greater on the portion that sits inside the folded-over casing and to which the gripping force is applied - the "foot" of the L. While mine has a single L-arm and this one has a double, they are a match otherwise.
Pearl.
That Stewart badge would indicate clearly being a Star drumset.
But the hardware facts tell another story:
- T-rods: never used by Star but Pearl,
- lugs: similar, but not equal with Star,
- rail consolette: never used by Star.
Can either be a Pearl or a Hoshino set - but definitely not Star-made.

I'm so sorry - I'm all backwards! The writing would be backwards, and this
jack' is not. Yeah - that could maybe be Stewart.
????
Appears to be Pearl - Pearl, Star, and Hoshino, ALL used the Stewart badge. Three ply with re-rings?
Thicker shell, no re-rings. I know it's Pearl-made, but wondering what the stencil name might be.
