New Rhythm???

Nice! Special in what way? I mean I've had toms that pretty much the same thing, is it rare with that on snares?

I just folded my first calfskin and put it on my snare! I think I did pretty good, and it sounds great!

By the way, I'm planning on doing this really retro, so I was wondering what the snare wire was made of 80 years ago, it looks like guitar strings, so that might work? Any input?

The rare thing is that the rings are so small and the way rgey are rounded. Rings in it self are not rare.

I still don´t think it is 80 years old, meaning from the 30s.

I think it looks more like the 50s or early 60s.

Anyway, wires could be as modern wires - or, like on orchestral/concert snares, they could be made from something like E-strings from a guitar or spun guts, if that´s the correct way to express it.

Okay, when you put it that way I realize I haven't seen it on any other drum.

Well I actually don't mind whether it's 60, 70 or 80 years old, all I know is that it is vintage, sounds good and is beautiful. But I really would like to know more about it, I mean I can't find anything what so ever about the brand. It would be nice to know all that stuff!

Yeah, since I'm going in a conservatory I have a lot of friends who play guitar so using the low E-string is my plan!
