Ludwig Supra COB pre-serial 6.5 - is it worth the money

Loading...

Would someone be so kind and tell me if this drum is worth $325. I've been looking for one of these for my studio and some live playing. It's a long ways from me so I cannot see the drum personally.

Here's some details:

Player's drum

No rust

A small, pinky-nail size, shallow dent on the side.

Etching on the side - name of high school.

Everything is original and in good working condition.

Thanks in advance

Are you sure it's COB?

From mlvibes

Are you sure it's COB?

I thought all pre-serials were COB.

Not exactly. I've found that preserial drums with a baseball bat muffler (like the one you're looking at) are COB about half the time. Here's an example of a Ludalloy preserial supra: http://cgi.ebay.com/Ludwig-Pre-Serial-Keystone-Badge-5X14-Supra-Phonic-BIN_W0QQitemZ330316617199

COB or Ludalloy? Either way, it's a 402 Supra, so I think $325.00 is a pretty safe bet.

Actually it appears to be a Ludalloy shell....note the pitting on the chrome. A COB will not show silver under any pitting.......Ludalloy shell for sure.
