Star Fantasia Pearl restoration complete

Loading...

Hi All,

It had taken me quite some time to put it all together again but its up and running, gets played fortnightly and is my main kit.

Purists will no doubt poo-poo the RIMS mounts and other changes made but the facts of the matter is I now have a flexible tone rich rock solid kit that is very very unique and more than capable of living on another 20 plus years.

Its been well worth the labour and time I have invested.

There are some average images attached to show where its at.

For those that appreciate the wrap, please enjoy.

Regards Lucas

Cool restoration Lucas. To heck with the purists; you have to be able to play those without fear of hardware failure.

Hi Lucas,

I think they look great. There is a lot to be said for the versatility of a five piece kit, and I like the fact that you don't have a million cymbals that (to me) can really clutter a kit up. The wrap looks fantastic!

Thanks man

Glad they are appreciated.

I am with luck going into a recording session with this kit in November so hopefully I can load a few files to show off the sound afterwards.

Good stuff Lucas. Apart from the Rims mounts what other changes did you make. Doesn't look like there is anything that can't be reversed if needed.

Lucas!

Your kit is a work of art! All of the effort and time you must have invested certainly paid off. Your drums are beautiful! I understand how you must feel because basically, I went through the same process getting my kit up and running (Stars in Turquoise Sparkle...Drum Gallery). Congratulations, sir!!! Amazing!

Bowing brilliant work!!! I love the sound of the old Stars! I have one similar like yours, but only three piece set!

Good Job Mr. :-)

I love Fantasia Pearl! The kit looks great! I completely agree that for an actual gigging kit, you'd need a RIMS mount. There's no way the original hardware would hold up. The beauty here is that you can always go back to original when called for. Beautiful kit. Well done!

Exactly what I wanted to ask, too!
