Ludwig Rail Consolette

Loading...

The Ludwig rail consolette (dial type) on my early sixties kit doesn't seem to put enough pressure on the L-arm to hold it in place securely. It seems fine until the weight of the rack tom is placed on it. Any suggestions on what might resolve this problem? I believe that the prior owner replaced one of the hex screws on the assembly. The original L-arm is also somewhat "beat up". Any other reasons that might be causing this? Also, do any of you know where you can buy the "correct" hex nuts for these rails?

Thanks in advance for your time and your help!

How is the little knob the dial hooks into? I had one that was worn down pretty bad and didn't hold well.

ive got one that must have some wear. one position is too low and the next position is too high the other way. have not run into that before.

Thanks so much for the info, Mike! I appreciate it. I'm going to grab a couple of these.

Would you happen to know whether the nuts were originally issued with one washer each or two?

Thanks again!

I had the same issue, Mike. What I did was use the upper arm piece from a late 60's/early 70's consolette with the locking teeth on it. It has the block logo and not the script logo (not a big deal to me), but that thing holds like a champ now! The repro consolette rail from Maxwell drums also has the locking teeth type of holder, but the base is only a 2-hole...not 4. Best of luck.

Hey Mike,

I just ordered a couple of these nuts from the source you suggested. I also grabbed another L-arm from one of my other kits to see if the slightly worn-out one might be the issue. Hopefully, between the two, my problem will be resolved.

THANKS for your help!
