Cool MIJ (Whitehall) snare - stock or custom?

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Yup - it appears it is the real deal. Anyone ever had one of these?

Hi, John:

I had one a few years ago and sold it. I just had no use for another snare. The drum was okay but, remember, it's a Pearl stencil. I would never pay near the $295.00 the seller is asking!!

Have to agree, even fully restored or upgraded I can't see that kind of money for that kind of MIJ. Maybe a modern Yamaha, but an old Pearl stencil? Nah.

Not sure how much - but the thing sold.

Salty - how did it sound?

What shell did it use - the one with the fine vertical etching?

Hi, John,

I think I only played the drum a couple of times. I don't remember any vertical etching on the shell. It sounded okay but, I really didn't need another snare. I think I sold it for about $50.00. At the time, I thought it was a fair price. I have at least a half a dozen stencil snares (Stars) which I really enjoy BUT none is worth that kind of money! I'm glad that you didn't buy it. There will be others, my friend.
