60s AZildjian set... Last viewed: 10 seconds ago

Loading...

Hey, I need some help, as I'm not much of a cymbal expert. I need to know the overall value of a set of 60s (from their stamps) Avedis Zildjian cymbals.

20" medium ride

18" medium-thin crash-ride

16" thin crash

15" hihats

8" thin splash

No, I don't have them in my immediate possession, so I don't have specific weights. I could probably get that info this weekend, however...

ALL are 60s' Avedis Zildjians (except the 18", which is an early 70's with the "Brilliant" finish) in very good shape with no key-holing, cracks, or any problems.

Please give me an idea of the overall value of this set of cymbals, you know, how much they'd resell for. And, should I split them up, or would I be better of selling as a set?

Thanks,

Bill

Sixties cymbals are readily available and generally don't go for that much. Assuming the 20" is a medium or medium thin, depending on condition and how it sounds it could be worth anywhere between $100 and perhaps close to $150 if it really sounded great. But...I have seen 20" 60's on sale at Sam Ash for as little as $80. I would think the 18" would be a around $100 or so, probably a bit less. As for the rest I would be guessing. I would think it might be harder to sell them as a set unless you found a student who has no cymbals. I would also tend to think that as a set the prices would have to be lower than individual sales, but it would be a lot more effort to sell them individually.

I agree with marks assessment. you will probably do better selling them individually. its hard to find someone that wants a complete set and is willing to pay for such unfortunately.

20" medium ride 100-125 unless super thin

18" medium-thin crash-ride 100

16" thin crash 75-100

15" hihats 150-175

8" thin splash 50

just my thoughts on prices..

It depends on what you refer to as big bucks, unless you mean large male deer. Excited

Even before the recession, I don't think a 20" 60's ride would have cost more than $150 to $160.
