Hi,

Just bought this Yamaha Kit and I need some help to find something more about it!

Check out some pictures:

I think it is a D20 or D30 from 1969 or 70, but it doenst appear on the oldest catalogs from Yamaha that are available on the Website.

Can someone help me?

Thanks

Welcome. Nice kit. It's a YD260 or YD270 (depending on sizes) kit from the early 70s. Nice birch/Luan shells. This is the Yamaha entry level kit of the time but the quality is good and they sound good too.

Andrew,

thank you very very much!

Do you know what kind of cymbals that these Kit used to bring up with?

Mine is equipped with Zildjian Cymbals, also from the same year! Two of them Made in USA and the rest Made in Turkey.

Do you have the entire catalog skaned with you?

Thank you once again. Bowing

Regards

Ricardo

I'm not sure on the cymbals. I had the same kit and it came with some cheap hi hats and a Paiste stambul cymbal but I don't know if these were original. They almost certainly wouldn't be Zildjians.

If you have Turkish made Zildjians it may be worth taking some photos and putting them in the cymbal section here for identification. Turkish made ones are often pretty valuable.

I don't have the catalog sorry. Another member posted those pages some time ago and I kept them on file.

The video is of a kit I restored a couple of years ago. Cool little kit.

Andrew,

once again thank you very much for your help.

You've made an excellent work on your drum.

Can wait to have mine done!

Than i'll put some photos (Before and After the restoration)

Tks
