R.O.C. drums any info?

Confirming pgm554's post, yes ... I used Glen to modify my vintage Rogers kit back when he was still customizing shells... in fact, my kit was the very last one he worked on and was making a transition to bicycles. His allergies led to very bad nose bleeding from the sawdust. Glen had a love for wood and would actually create more of an aggressive sound edge angle than conventional edges. His theory was that it would bring more tone out of the shell. In the case of my Rogers, they do (still) have an original (and warm) sound. I had a gold mirror wrap replace the old Walnut wrap, he removed the sound reinforcement hoops, brought the edges to about 30 degrees, laminated the inside shells with a chinese oak veneer, and to top it off, had all of the internal hardware gold plated... It's a beautiful kit, that I am thinking about putting out on the market.

One of the kit's claim to fame was that I'd lent it to Troy Luccketta from Tesla, to use for the 5 Man Acoustic Jam tour kickoff at Slims in San Fran, and was also the kit featured on the same Album cover.

I lost contact with Glen and not sure if he remained at the same spot in South San Francisco.

A fairly old thread, but I wanted to add some pictures I just scanned from a 1986 Modern Drummer magazine. I have about 15 years of MD mags, dating back to about 1981. A wealth of information and cool pictures of percussion items that are no longer with us. As time permits, I'll scan some more pictures and post them.

Enjoy!

It does look huge, doesn't it! I have a feeling it's a 16", though.
