The "screws" you are referring to are called Rods.

A Tama guy will help you.

I do not know the thread size.

Might be 12-24.

I looked and I cannot find the exact replacement rods for that snare.

The hex part at the top, below the square drive part, seems for show/looks only.

Not really necessary.

Why don't you just get some normal rods of the correct length?

Or are you looking to do a complete, accurate restoration?

Maybe try a Tama Drum Forum.

Good Luck. Never seen those rods before.

Is this drum set up to tension both sides from the top? If so not only would the "tube"rod be broken, but left handed thread, too.

It does appear to be the case. That will be difficult to find. Very attractive drum however. Good luck finding those tension rods.

Hello friend. The hexagonal portion fits on the axis which crosses the lug and goes to the other end. This allow to tune both skins from the top of the snare. This tuning system is called omnitune. Look the pictures below:

Thank you for seeking help in the Tama forum, I saw your publication. I am also monitoring that thread. :)

Hello Teverson-sr!

Yes, both skins are tuned from the top.

The problem is only with the lower rod. If I replace, it will work again.

Thank you!!
