People generally call it the 60's stamp, however that is not definitive. Zildjian will tell you to add or subtract 10 years for a reason. I had a thin one with that stamp, but it also had the hollow logo Zildjian ink stamp, which officially placed it's manufacture between 1978 to 1981. If there is NO ink, there is no way to tell if it ever had the hollow logo or not.Yes, it could be early 80's.

Well, that's what I thought as well, except that there we're no cymbals with Hollow inked Zildjian logo on them until '78. They we're given pictures as well at the time.

Are you speaking of the original pic posted by Joez4000?

Or the more recent two pics posted by jeff_r0x?

"The finish is different" from what? Are you contrasting two different cymbals in your phrase?

Now that there are two different cymbals under discussion both of which have pics, we need to be more careful with our writing so we know which cymbal we are talking about.

If I saw the two photos jeff_r0x posted of a cymbal I would say it passes as a 60s stamp and looks like a 60s cymbal on morphology.

I'd say the very first post/pic by Joez4000 looks like a 60s stamp, but I don't get enough of the whole cymbal in that pic to form a strong opinion about the morphology of the cymbal looking 60s as well.

For what it's worth I have 3 hollow logo ink Zildjian cymbals - a 16" and 18" inch and a 14" set of hi hats. 2 have what I would consider the earlier 70s stamp with no dots and the Co (lowercase o) while 1 has the 3 dots but also has the later CO. (uppercase O) which you see on the later solid ink logo Zildjians (of which I have several). Note that all have the later thin font for "Zildjian Co". I agree that the first pictures posted here have the thicker font which would indicate 60's along with having the 3 dots.

14" hollow ink logo with no dots and earlier Co (periods in U.S.A.)

18" hollow ink logo with no dots and earlier Co (periods in U.S.A.)

16" hollow ink logo with 3 dots and later CO. (no periods in USA)
