C. Watts china cymbal. Suggestions?

Well,

The better half played a kit for the first time. Had a grand time but declared need more cymbals. I can do that :-)

First on my list has been a China style. Prices and types are all over the range on eBay. Anyone care to share some knowledge? Kit restoration costs are killing me so would like something usable around $100. If possible.

Thanks in advance!!

Charlie seems to play a UFIP. Natural Series, I believe. Very dark sounding. You just have to look out for a nice used one. Might take a month or two, but they do show up.

Cheap Chinas are EASY. Who better to make a China cymbal than the Chinese? Wuhan makes nice, cheap REAL Chinas. Depending on size, easily found for less than $100. Also, look for used Rancan's; They're Wuhans labelled as sold by LP (Latin Percussion) from back in the '80s/90s. I've had several- dark, trashy and everything you'd expect.

You can get an 18" Wuhan China from Guitar Center for $49.95 BRAND NEW. I have one and it's perfect for what it is. That also comes with free shipping for 49.95 and over, in case there isn't one local.

The closet thing I found to Charlie's China was a 17" Prototype EAK NOS I grabbed at the Chicago Show a few years back...super thin...

Sold it to Neil Finn..it's in New Zealand now at his recording studio..I told him it was the best China I ever had...

I'm pretty he used it in the song Tell Me What You Want by his side project ....Pajama Club...

I have a Rancan China too FS if you are interested...I have a few Chinas...
