Avedis Zildjian hi hat: age, value?

Loading...

Hi,

I'm new here, and English is not my native language so pls. excuse my noob-question.

I inherited one half of a 14" A. Zildjian hi hat. It has no inked stamp; only a pressed logo/text, see pic.

Could someone tell me if it has any value, and how old it approx. is?

Thanks!

Looks to be a 1970's era Zildjian Thin Stamp. Value depends on weight, so ball park $50.00-$100.00

Hi backbeatkeeper,

Thanks for the reply.

Weight is 1170 grams = 41.2 oz. (one cymbal). Is your price-estimate per cymbal, or per set of two?

Thanks again!

I believe that would be $50 - $100 for one cymbal. That's what I'd say based on recent eBay activity. I've got an early 1960s bottom which weighs 1120g and it cost $85 which is nicely in the middle of the range.

From the pic / its a 60s...

from the weight listed n grams its medium in weight..

I forgot to read if its a 13" or 14" or 15"..?

In Canada they would go for $60/75 as a single & $125/150 as a set..

More if they were lighter & 15" in size..

Oops, you're right, the 3 dots. Must be a polished cymbal for a stamp that thin. Price is for a single cymbal.

For the record: I just sold the cymbal for 50 Euros (approx. 70 USD) via the local Craigslist. The money goes to my (drumming) son who can now buy a solid and stable boomstand to put his 18" crash cymbal on Cool1

Thanks for all replies!
