Hi guys,
just finished this 14x6 snare. It was made out of a 14 Vintage Premier tom. 3 ply African mahogany with solid beech rings. I have managed to cut the tom shell in a way that no holes were left to fill. Just had to remove one of the rings from the rest piece and glue it back to the shell. As the tom had 8 lugs
i used the existing 8 holes and drilled another 8 for the tube lugs plus few more for the rest of the hardware. I used 14" Vintage stick safer hoops and a Trick strainer and butt. 30 degrees bearing edges on the inside and round over on the outside.
I would love to hear your honest opinion on the finish! I can bravely take criticism! :)
BTW if anyone is interested in buying it i am willing to sell it. I will only charge
for the hardware (brushed chrome!). The shell and the work done are free! That's €190!
Plus whatever the shipping from Europe is.
