Looking at the above kit. Black/white badges. 12/13/16/22 in white cortex with Classic lugs and the brown Lude-coat coated shells that look like 4-ply. Nothing missing, the wrap is not cracked and it still has the original clear chrome dot heads. It pretty much just needs a good cleaning. It looks like it was a basement dweller.
Based on past threads, the reviews are all over the place, but are they worth $100? Sorry, I don't have pictures.

Tim, I think they are worth it, go get them before there gone. I have Rockers with the granitone shells, they are Rocker II drums and I think they sound great. Yours have classic lugs even better. Just make shure the badge says made in USA, your good to go!

I've been reviewing the Ludwig Rockers section under the Vintage Drum Guide. I think these might be one of the transition kits. They have the chrome bass drum hoops, Classic lugs, brown Lude-cote shell interiors, the B/W badges without the thin box around the serial numbers and the heavy duty bass drum spurs. It's possible they might even be the S/L Series Five line. The front bass drum head just says Ludwig and it doesn't have the Rockers or Rockers II text at the bottom of the head.

I paid $250 for my Rockers w/COW snare and it's the best money I've ever spent. Almost classic Ludwig sound w/new heads. Retro early MTV-looking. Go get em and posts pics asap! Good luck.
Does anyone have an idea of when they used the brown granitone coating?
How about a serial number timeline for the B/W badges.

Generally anything Rockers pre-move to China black and white badges are good and made in USA. If classic lugs all the better but standard lugs make no sonic difference. Get em, or tell me who's selling them so I can !
ps As far as "reviews are all over the place" I don't think so. For USA made Rockers the reviews are great. Chinese junk 1990s not so good. But you're talking $100. Five $20 bills.

The kit needs a very good cleaning. It looks like something got spilled and then dried on the white wrap. I'm going to see if it actually stained the wrap. If it did, I might think twice about buying. :(

Even with some minor cosmetic things it's still a steal. Glad you got em. Eh it's only $100. You can go out for a nice dinner these days for the same amount. These drums will last a lifetime.
At 25.00 per drum how can you go wrong? And if all the parts are there, no missing bottom hoops and they are not solid rust then heck ya man. These are what I look for all the time. Cover in a maple veneer, new finish and you have a real nice set of drums. If you end up not wanting them, I might buy them from you, depending on shipping of course.
