Yep, those are modern 45 degree edges on what 'looks like' 7-ply shells. Hard to tell how many plies from the photo. They should sound punchy, have good attack and project well. You may be surprised at how much volume you get out of them. Please give us a 'sound report' at some point after you've had a chance to spend a little time with them and get them dialed in just right.
Will you be swapping out the factory heads? If yes, for which ones? Sweet little kit man. At the price, I'm really tempted...

That's really nice! I had a sorta of similar small Ludwig the "Gig Lite", 100% USA birch shells, but I bet this is nicer on account of the too quick response of the shallow depths the Gig Lite.

The factory heads are Remo pinstripes which sound good. If I switched them out they'd probably be evans ec2 sst's or remo emperor's or maybe even remo vintage ambassadors? Not sure...I'd have to experiment. Fun kit and would make an awesome starter kit for a young one too!
