Tama Double Bass Set Screws

Friends:

I recently purchased a Tama Pro-Beat double bass pedal (1984).It cleaned up really well and seems to be in great working order. I'm anxious to try it out. The problem is, with my poor eyesight, I know that I'll lose at least one or more of the very small set screws that join the connecting rod to the foot pedals. clubdate was VERY helpful in pointing me in the right direction but, if anyone has any of these alen screws to spare, I'd be really grateful. Of course they are metric but, I don't know the thead size. Thank you very much.

Don't you have metric screws over there?

If not, I might send you some (with an inbus head or so) - if I only knew whether it's an M5 (= thread outer diameter: 5 mm) or an M6 (respectively in 6 mm) thread. Any chances for you to figure that out?

Thanks for the reply and information, my friend. We do have metric here (officially we are metric) but, many people still prefer standard measurement. Out hardware stores carry both BUT variety is very limited. I'm going to make my rounds of every store I know after gym today. Thanks again, Ralf. I'll keep you informed.

Hi, Ralf:

I got lucky at our local hardware store. They had six of the set screws I wanted for reserve stock so I bought them all. They were the exact length I needed as well. They were M4's. I'm glad that the young lady who helped me had far better eyes than mine though.
