Yamaha Club Customs (2011) for a Vintage Rogers or Ludwig

Loading...

I'm looking to trade my 2011 Yamaha Club Custom drum set for a vintage Ludwig or Rogers. The sizes of the Yamaha are 22x15, 16x15, 12x8, and a 14x5.5 snare. The set has been gigged a bit, so there are the usual small scuffs and such on the drums, but overall they are in good shape and they sound great. They definitely have a vintage vibe and sound to them.

I am mostly interested in a 60s Red or Blue Onyx Rogers or a Black Onyx kit. This would need to be a 22/16/13 or 12 set. I know Rogers 20" kick drums are great, but I prefer a 22" kick. (I would be open to a red sparkle/glitter kit.)

I'd also be open to a vintage Ludwig kit. I would prefer a 1968-1973, but I may consider an early to mid 1960s Ludwig kit. (Not looking for anything newer than 1973.) I'm only looking for a 22,16,13 (or 12).

For a Ludwig kit I really prefer black oyster or blue oyster, champagne sparkle, or burgundy sparkle or sky blue. I know people love them but I'm going to pass on silver sparkle, blue sparkle, WMP, BDP, and gold sparkle.

Love those drums. But not sure why you got rid of your Ludwig Standards? I lusted after those but was minutes late to get them I guess. Seller's remorse?

Actually, I'm moving to Singapore, so I'm selling off a bunch of gear. I will be able to take one kit, but that kit will have to be set up/broken down every time I use it, so it is going to have to be able to take some abuse. The Standard kit is great, but the hardware makes it a little more fragile than other vintage kits, which are already a little fragile. I don't want to be in Singapore trying to find a Standard lug or something. I figured I would look for something more common and more durable. I also have the Yamahas for sale, so if I can't make a trade, I'll sell these drums and take my C&C kit with me.

This Yamaha kit is being sold because my C&C kit combines the vintage/modern sound like these drums do. Otherwise they are great drums.

Really, I love all of my drums - including the Yamahas and the Standards- but I need to be a bit more practical at this time. :(

How about a 60's Slingerland kit in a red glass glitter? All original, although they do have some scuffs on the toms, 13,16,20, thanks.

Thanks, but I'm definitely looking for a 22" kick. And at this point I'm shooting for a Ludwig kit (they are much more common than Rogers and I'm a little low on time.)
