Rogers by Paiste Hi-Hat

Loading...

Hoping someone can answer this... I've spent the entire evening hunting the internet for an answer and still coming up with nothing....

Ran across a hi-hat at a local pawn shop and haven't seen this kind before:

Rogers by Paiste

Bronze 14" Hi-Hat Top (and bottom)

Serial #431147 (top) didn't write down serial number from bottom

Can anyone tell me anything about these, good or bad?

They're not set up on a stand so I couldn't really tell how they will sound but look to be in excellent condition (almost brand new).

Thanks! Kenny

Pasha, Zildjian and Paiste evidently all made "Rogers" cymbals. Depends on the era. If they are later period; they are rubbish I'm afraid. What we need is a picture. I can spot B20 at a distance; but not from here ;-)

Thanks for your reply!

I didn't think to get a picture of them while I was there unfortunately... Was hoping someone could tell something by the description and serial number.

Thanks again!

Hey Trout,

You must have good binoculars to see B20 from there ()-()

Is that Pasha as in UFiP stencil brand? I had a look at The Cymbal Book but on a casual look (via the index which doesn't include everything) it didn't seem to have much to say about the cymbals which Rogers put their name on. I've seen the occasional one for sale here in NZ but never kept a record of them. Just a curiosity.

What year were they made? Sounds pretty interesting I never heard that. I have a old set of Ludwig Paiste 15" hats. They sound pretty nice for what they are.

Hey! Thanks for all the input!

I guess you could say I answered my own question when I went back to the pawn shop and took my hi-hat stand so I could see what they actually sounded like. They weren't the worst I've heard, but they didn't have the sound I'm looking for....

so the pawn shop still has them and I still have the $$ in my pocket and looking for the right sound for a reasonable price Yes Sir

Thanks again everybody!!

The Rogers by Paiste cymbals are German made Paiste and there were both Bronze and Brass versions produced. I have a set of each and they aren't the worst sounding hats I've ever heard.

I have a 12" bronze splash that I quite like and a 20" bronze ride that actually sounds very nice.
