Sure that some of you also have noticed this -

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1960s-20-Whi...E:B:SS:US:1123

this WMP BD on Ebay shows a badge of "Trio by SMG" which I can only guess to mean Trio, by Star Manufacturing Group.

It would be interesting to hear from Mickey or jonnistix (where is he lately??) or Osakabop (have not seen him in a while either) or Ralf.

The lugs look a bit different than typical Star stencils - these are taller and have a squared tail. Cymbal post mount on the BD is Star I believe.

TO WHICH MICKEY REPLIES/COMMENTS:

John, The bass drum is a Pearl made drum from the late 60's these lugs you would fine on Crown made drums along with about 20 or so name's.The badge is a new one to me.Pearl made two types of these lugs the first ones had a flat nut inside for the T-rod 1966-68 the other one and the later one had a insert and spring inside the lug.The shell looks to be a 9 ply shell, the tom mount and cymbal mount on the bass are Pearl so are the claws and T-rods...Mikey

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

That's Hoshino baby! Seems to be some possible tie-in/cross-over between Hoshino and Pearl at some point, (part of the great MIJ mystery) but that's Hoshino hardware all the way on that last pic.

It would help to see pics of the parts on this floor tom to help to conclusively identify this drum. Lugs, Leg mounts, rims, inside of the shell, etc.

Thanks.

Those 'Champions' have some similarities to Sonor - but only in the logo. The overall condition of those drums is not to be compared with Sonor stuff.

That's a cheap knock-off drum name (MIA) from the 70's.

Sorry that I cannot report better.

Hi, new to the site, I recently picked up a set of Bolleros. ( double L) Mahogany, with hoop reinforcements, I can't find much about them if anyone has a link, or can just tell me more about them, I'd really appreciate it. They're in spectacular shape, and have a lot of original hard where with it, I'm just not sure of the rarity of them, or the value. Not sure how to put pics on here yet, hopefully I will figure it out soon enough.

Please, start a new post in this section ... and kindly note the website at the bottom of my post ;) .

Pictures will be greatly appreciated in your post! You can use links to an external place, where you store your pics, too (as e.g. flickr or photobucket).

Cheers, Ralf
